Comix Jam @ ArtShare LA is a collaborative and participatory comics-making event that is happening at the walls of ArtShare LA as part of The Big Draw LA this October 20th until the 24th. The Comix Jam will be bringing comic book enthusiasts and artists together with people from all walks of life together to co-produce comic book pages on the walls of ArtShare LA. The jams will be happening from 6-10pm during the dates of October 20th-24th. Come and invite all your friends!
With comics becoming more and more popular as a vehicle for collaborative and creative interaction, this event will have visitors create drawings on panels that other participants can continue and expand in some sequential way or another. Individual panels will be hung on the walls and instigating artists will start off the event by drawing the first panels that participants can continue throughout the duration of the event. come and work on them and return it when done. At the end of the project, we are hoping to create a printed book or even a downloadable version that people can view and order if desired.
Comic artists who will be attending the event are encouraged to bring copies of your published work to permanently share in the viewing library.
The event is open to the public, with selected artists instigating various plots and story lines. Audience participation is key in making this event a success!
