Portrait Drawing - a collaboration between 1450 Ocean and Otis College of Art and Design, presented in conjunction with The Big Draw LA.

Join Ken Jones from Otis College for a live-model workshop to hone your portrait drawing skills. Practice line, shading and observation in a boat-like room overlooking the ocean. Includes drawing supplies.

Ken Jones, MFA California State University, Los Angeles; BA in Art, California State University, Northridge with additional studies in figure drawing under Karl Gnass and Glenn Villpu. Jones has been teaching figure drawing and painting courses since 1996 at such colleges as CSUN and Otis College of Art and Design.

For those who love to draw, and those who think they can't! October is Big Draw month in twenty countries, and over 200,000 people take part in this immense drawing festival. Thousands of drawing activities connect people of all ages with museums, outdoor spaces, artists - and each other. The Big Draw was started in the UK in 2000 by the Guild of St. George, a non-profit group founded by 19th century artist, critic, and educator John Ruskin. Since its launch in 2000, The Big Draw has highlighted the power of drawing to help people see, think, invent and take action. The Los Angeles edition of The Big Draw has been presented by Ryman Arts since 2010.
1450 Ocean offers arts, crafts and culture classes year-round. Polish your writing, take a better picture, learn how to make paper, knit, sew, and find a community of artists and movers!
